Spring Flowers Headband

Well, it looks like spring is finally trying to come to Chicago. We got to go on a bike ride last week and enjoyed The Botanic Garden, one of my favorite places!

This weekend I worked on these headbands (among other things) that I have had in my mind for a while, this is just the first two I made for the girls, Isabella wouldn't let me take pictures of her wearing it. So Estrella, since she loves to  be in front of a camera, graciously agreed to model Isabella's headband.

I made this with chunky Jiffy Yarn, super soft and stretchy. I had the idea of making headbands that were girly and stay in place. I also wanted headbands that don't give headaches, I get headaches if I wear a headband or a tiara or whatever you call in English those hairbands, we called them "diademas" in Guatemala. But, going back to what I was saying, this headband is super light, I am wearing it right now and I totally forgot I had it on cause it doesn't put pressure on the sides of my head. I love that!!

It also doesn't slide off. Estrella likes the two flowers I put in, the same kind I made for the Winter Flower Hats, but she thought they were kind of too small. I like the combination of colors, you can really see it int he picture, but the center of the flower is a pink button. I can stretch this one all I want and it will go back to its original shape afterwards.

This is the one I made for Isabella, Estrella likes this one better because the flower is bigger. It took me only Saturday evening to make both of them.

For this one I use baby yarn, which is thin and soft, it is slightly narrower than the other one and it stretches too much I think! The problem with this kind of yarn is that once it is stretched it doesn't go back to its original shape, like the cream and brown with chunky yarn.

My next headbands will be a little more flexible, you will see them at the end of the week.
So, what do you think about this new project? do you think little girls will go for it? Big flowers or little flowers in a cluster? I can't wait to hear from you!
